As far as debut seasons go, The Tamil Thalaivas have so far endured a difficult one. With no victories in their last five, the outlook for the rest of the tournament seems bleak. Losing the last match against the Bengal Warriors was tough, but an uncharacteristically quiet performance from captain and star raider Ajay Thakur will have fans worried. The Thalaivas will be playing their 2nd game against, UP Yoddha this season, with the first one being a thrilling 33-33 draw that was a supreme display of Kabaddi from both sides. Fans will be hoping for a repeat of the Thalaivas and Captain Ajay Thakur’s performances from that night. As usual, UP Yoddha Captain Nitin Tomar will be a difficult offensive threat that will keep defenders Anil Kumar and Amit Hooda busy. Yoddha defender Jeeva Kumar will be a major obstacle for the Thalaivas offensive line should he continue his good performances in this competition.

The UP Yoddhas are on a somewhat middling run of form, as a shaky defence is leaving them unable to defend leads that could win them important games. Their last game against the Gujarat Fortune giants ended in a draw, however the result could have easily gone against them as their opponents have proven to be real contenders this season. Thalaivas’ raiders Ajay Thakur is a consistent offensive threat for the Thalaivas, and rookies K.Prapanjan and Dong Geon Lee are beginning to find their feet. Yoddha raiders Nitin Tomar and Rishank Devadiga will need to find a way to penetrate a Tamil Thalaivas defence that can be nearly impenetrable when Thalaivas defender Amit Hooda is on form.
